Deceuninck has won the G18 ‘Product of the Year’ award with Linktrusion™ technology. This is the second year running Deceuninck has scooped the top prize for product innovation at the prestigious G-Awards.
Described by judges as “a truly innovative product”, Linktrusion™ is a completely new, patented composite technology that combines pultruded glass fibre with PVC-U in Deceuninck’s 5000 composite system. Windows and doors made with Linktrusion™ are light and strong with slim sightlines and outstanding thermal performance. Fully recyclable, Linktrusion™ windows and doors are the first to remove the need for traditional steel reinforcement so developers can specify very tall windows and large doors.
“To say we’re over the moon is an understatement!” says Deceuninck MD Rob McGlennon. “Linktrusion™ is a real innovation and it is already making a big impact in the commercial sector. Our 5000 window and doors with Linktrusion™ combine outstanding performance with a flush, contemporary appearance that specifiers love.
“We’ve had a fantastic year with sales up 17%, but winning Product of the Year is the icing on the cake. It follows our win in 2017 with the standout Heritage Flush Sash, and it’s great to get the recognition from peers and industry experts. I’d like to thank the Deceuninck team for all their hard work, and our customers for their ongoing support.”
Deceuninck was presented with its trophy at the G18 gala dinner and awards ceremony at the London Hilton on Park Lane at the end of November. The annual G-Awards celebrates the achievements of companies and individuals in the glass and glazing industry.

Deceuninck’s Rob McGlennon comments: “Our long heritage lies in working closely with fabricators to develop tailored solutions to help them grow alongside delivering true innovation to the market time and time again.
“There aren’t many companies with such a long history, let alone such a successful one, but we’ve continued to fulfil our ambitious growth plans by putting both our trade and commercial customers at the heart of everything we do. We know that to help our fabricator customers grow we need to understand their needs, listen to what they want from us and do everything in our power to give them just that. We are fortunate to have the resources and skillset to make this happen. We also understand the market and watch closely for the latest trends before they hit so that we have the right offering for our customers before they even know they need it.
“The launch of our Heritage Window Collection is a good example. We knew the heritage market was going to gain momentum so we developed an outstanding range of products that will help existing or new fabricator customers to make the most of this opportunity. In addition to supplying the right products at the right time, we also develop marketing support that is over and above – marketing support that truly hits the mark and helps our customers and their installer customers, sell.
“Our partnering approach means that our customers remain loyal because they not only get quality products that allow them to get ahead of the market, they also get the ongoing support they need to grow their sales. In a market that is often focused on new business, our customers tell us they appreciate the ongoing level of commitment we offer.
“The Deceuninck way of doing business is, we feel, unique and is why we have succeeded for 80 years. We’re looking forward to the next 80 years of working side by side with our customers to achieve further growth and continue to lead the way in innovation.”
Traditional PVC window frames have galvanised steel inside to reinforce the window frame. With Deceuninck’s Linktrusion® technology (used in Zendow#neo windows), the steel is replaced by using an innovative reinforcement technology.
Linktrusion® is used in 2 ways: as continuous glass fibres embedded in the profile (200,000 metres of glass fibres are used in 1 metre of PVC window frame profile) – or as a recycled PVC foam core with steel wires and a PVC skin which is inserted in the profile.
Fastframe have recently completed a project using Neo Door sash allowing PVC Doors at 1100mm wide and 2400mm high in one sash. This product provides the opportunity for us to compete with the technical sizes attributed to aluminium products but at half off the cost.
Fastframe Uk have recently completed the project at Battery Court in Barking for Quadrant Construction.
Consisting of two 6 storey tower blocks for Social Housing, Fastframe manufactured and installed the Deceuninck 5000 series windows and Doors finished in smooth Grey foil externally with Yellow Door sashes.
Fastframe UK have introduced the New Deceuninck Sash Horn window into their product range.
Available in all of the colourways, this addition enhances the Heritage range with a further option to produce the classic look of Sash windows. These windows are manufactured with a ‘run through’ sash leg and finished with a bespoke moulded end cap, and a mechanically joined bottom rail to give that classic look.
